YBM and I Hate Flying Bugs Inc. Sign MOU to Partner on Digital Textbooks for Public Education Market

I Hate Flying Bugs Inc. (IHFB), the company behind the popular 1:1 online personal teaching solution “Mildang PT,” announced today it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with YBM, a leading education publishing company, to collaborate on AI Digital Textbooks for the public education market.

Under the terms of the MOU, YBM and I Hate Flying Bugs Inc. will:

  • Jointly develop AI Digital Textbooks approved for integration into elementary, middle, and high school curriculums starting March 2025.
  • Utilize YBM’s extensive high-quality educational content for digitalization.
  • Leverage IHFB’s AI-powered “Mildang PT” technology to develop features supporting on-site teacher learning monitoring and personalized student learning.
  • Strengthen the partnership through YBM’s potential acquisition of a portion of IHFB’s shares.

Commenting on the agreement, Munho Heo, CEO of YBM, stated: “We are excited to partner with I Hate Flying Bugs Inc., whose successful education solution combines AI-based online learning system with on-tact teachers. This MOU enables us to build a mutually beneficial partnership by leveraging both companies’ strengths and driving mutual growth.”

This agreement aligns with the South Korean Ministry of Education’s “AI Digital Textbook Project” launched in February 2023. The project aims to introduce personalized education through AI Digital Textbooks starting in 2025 and facilitates collaborations between EdTech companies and established publishers through dedicated events.
